'Balanced Public Cabinet Representing All,': TDP as New Government Takes Oath In Andhra Pradesh

With Telegu Desam Party-led NDA coming to power in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu‘s second term since the bifurcation is all set to kick start today. The new government’s swearing-in was held around 11: 27 am at Kesarpalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada.

In a post on X, the TDP described the new cabinet as a “balanced public cabinet representing people from all walks of life.” Notably, out of the total 24, 17 ministers are newcomers, and there is one Muslim cabinet minister. There are three women ministers, and eight ministers from backward class.

This is Chandrababu Naidu’s fourth term as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Notably, the ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other Union Ministers including Amit Shah, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Chirag Paswan and Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

At a meeting held in Vijayawada, Jana Sena Party chief K Pawan Kalyan proposed Naidu’s name as NDA’s leader. Naidu had yesterday announced his long-cherished plan of Amaravati as the sole capital city of Andhra Pradesh, suggesting an added boost to the construction of the city.

TDP had contested the 2024 assembly election in alliance with  Pawan Kalyan’s JSP and the BJP. The NDA alliance swept the state election, securing 164 out of the 175 seats. TDP alone won 135 seats while the JSP and BJP bagged 21 and 8 seats, respectively.
