An advertisement is going viral on social media platform X showing an Israeli Olympian with blood on his hands. The ad is said to have been allegedly dropped by Iran to showcase the apartheid and genocide by Israel in Gaza. Reportedly, over 39,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 90,000 people have been injured by the Israeli attacks in Gaza so far.
The advertisement shows an Israeli athlete who shakes his hand with fellow athletes whose expressions change after noticing their hands. In the end, it shows that the blood dripping out of Israeli athlete’s hands and they clean their hands on his shirt.

Several users have responded to the ad and gave a range of reactions. One user wrote, “The world needs to come to understand Zionism. Zionism is no more Judaism than Nazism was all Germans.”
Another user, Andrew Phelan wrote, “No, that tattoo they gave the athlete was a huge miscalculation. Zionism is not Judaism, and this advert consequently reeks of antisemitism. I say that as someone who thinks Israel absolutely should be banned from the Olympics. This isn’t a message I support.”
However, some users also questioned Iran’s policy on its own people. One user wrote, “Think people forget #MahsaAmini, what a hypocrite”.
Iran has been a staunch and vocal supporters of Palestine since Israel started the Genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Iran though did not attack the Israel directly, its proxies including Hezbollah and Houthis have targeted Isreal directly and indirectly.
Recently, Israel allegedly killed Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran. In response to this Iran has reiterated its support for Palestine and said that Iran will take revenge for Haniyeh’s killing on its land.
