The famous franchise Now You See Me is back after almost a decade. And this time, unlike the usual scenes shot in cities like New York, Las Vegas, and New Orleans, the filmmakers have given it a modern twist. The much anticipated third chapter, titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, in the hit illusionist-heist series was shot at iconic landmarks in Abu Dhabi.

The trailer is packed with fast-shifting scenes at Yas Marina Circuit and the W Abu Dhabi, dramatic Formula 1 car chases across Sheikh Zayed Bridge, and artistic shots at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, giving the audience a thrilling ride across the Emirate.

In collaboration with Abu Dhabi’s Creative Media Authority, Abu Dhabi Film Commission, and Miral, the Hollywood production, filled with adrenaline-pumping stunts, was wrapped in just 13 days.

A total of 175 crew members worked on the production, which included six UAE-based filmmakers who secured internships on set through the talent development arm of the CMA, Creative Lab.

The screenplay, by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Lesslie, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese, with a story by Eric Warren Singer, is based on characters created by Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt. The film is produced by Bobby Cohen, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci.

The key locations in Abu Dhabi touched down by the production included Yas Island and its attractions such as CLYMB, Ferrari World, and the marina. Other locations such as the Louvre, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, and the Liwa Desert had previously served as backdrops for Dune 1 & 2.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is among more than 180 productions that have used Abu Dhabi as a location in recent years. Others include F1, Dune, Dune: Part Two, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Netflix’s 6 Underground and War Machine, as well as franchises Mission: Impossible, Star Wars, and Fast and Furious.
