Justin Trudeau Surrounded By Pro-Palestine Protesters In A Restaurant

Around 100 officers were dispatched to Vancouver restaurant on Tuesday night as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was surrounded by pro-Palestinian protesters. Vancouver police reported at a news conference that around 250 pro-Palestine protesters surrounded the restaurant Mr. Trudeau was dining. Video of the incident has been going viral in social media.

Reports suggested that two men were detained. one for allegedly charging at a police officer and the other for causing obstruction. The protesters jeered at the Mr. Trudeau by saying “shame on you” and “blood on your hands” and called out for a “ceasefire now”.

Mr. Trudeau is on a hot seat not only in the eyes of the pro-Palestinian people but by the Israelis too. Mr. Trudeau has made a call on Israel to exert maximum restrain on the attack while keeping in mind the protection of civilians.

He said, “we are hearing the testimonies of doctors, family members, survivors, kids who have lost their parents. The world is witnessing this – the killing pf women and children, of babies…this has to stop”.

He further added that “I have been clear that the price of justice cannot be the continued suffering of all Palestinian civilians. Even wars have rules. All innocent life is equal in worth – Israeli and Palestinians”, as quoted by AA.

The Canadian PM also asked Hamas resistance group to stop using  Palestinians as “human shields”. This comment from Justin Trudeau was received with a grunt by the Israeli leaders.

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, responded defensively to the concerns voiced out by the Canadian Prime Minister. Taking to X (formerly twitter), Netanyahu wrote that “it is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians but Hamas that beheaded, burned and massacred civilians in the worst horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust”. He also called out to the “forces of civilisation must back Israel in defeating Hamas barbarism”.

Meanwhile, the diplomats of the countries that refused to call for ceasefire is having a hard time in public. People who have been aware of the brutal genocide and extreme face of occupation in the land of Palestine has started to confront the leaders everywhere they see them questioning about why are they not calling for a ceasefire on Gaza.

Aaron Mate, who is a journalist for Greyzone, a US based news website has confronted a US senator on a train asking him about why the US is not calling for a ceasefire.
