Boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather”s recent visit to occupied Jerusalem has sparked controversies and criticism amid the Gaza genocide. While the Palestinian children are starving as Israel continues to block aid and bomb Gaza, the boxer was received by Jewish rabbis and given the moniker ‘Rabbi Mayweather’, which is sharply in contrast to the dire conditions faced by the Gazans.

Criticizing his visit, an ex-professional MMA fighter Tam Khan wrote on X, “Uncle tom @FloydMayweather entertaining his masters. Dance boy, be an obedient house boy. Shameful. Entertaining child killers.” He also shared the video of Floyd singing along with the IDF members.

Mayweather visited Aish HaTorah and the United Hatzalah headquarters in Jerusalem on Tuesday and received the organization’s Champion for Israel Award.

And this was not the first time the boxer has come up showcasing his support for Israel. Earlier in October, last year, Mayweather showed his solidarity by sending a private jet filled with 5,000 pounds of supplies including food, water, and bulletproof vests for the occupation force, IDF. And he also visited occupied Jerusalem in November to express his unwavering support.

Mayweather”s latest visit to Israel was also harshly criticized by a Palestinian former boxing champion, Billy Dib. He termed it to be a disgrace to his ancestors. “Floyd Mayweather is a disgrace to his ancestors. This is Slavery, just in a different form. He”s a slave to money. Weak human,” he wrote.

While another user wrote, “Floyd Mayweather took his legacy from undefeated fighter to genocide apologist. Dancing around with the IDF like a clown. Big disgrace to boxing and public life in general.”

Muslims across the world are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan. The situation in Gaza is beyond the length of imagination. Ramadan being the month of fasting, the whole Muslims across the world will give up food and water from dawn to dusk. Meanwhile, the Gazans have been fasting for over five months. The Gazans are reduced to depend on to eat grass, animal feeds, and potato peels to keep up with the harrowing hunger.

According to UN, over 300,000 Palestinians are under the threat of forced famine, due to Israeli blockade on the passage of desperately needed humanitarian aid trucks and cutting of all other food and water supplies into the Strip since the beginning of the current war.
