Hezbollah Kills Four Israeli Soldiers In South Lebanon Combat
The Israeli military has confirmed the death of four soldiers in combat in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces are clashing with Hezbollah fighters after launching a ground invasion of the country. Reportedly, four soldiers were killed, while two others were wounded.
Since the fight between Israel and Hezbollah flared up on March 2, ten Israeli soldiers have been reported to be killed so far. As per the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, more than 1,200 people have been killed in Israeli attacks, while more than a million were displaced.
Two UN Interim Force peacekeepers were also killed in Lebanon when an explosion of unknown origin destroyed their vehicle, near the southern Lebanese village of Bani Haiyyan. A projectile near the southern Lebanese village of Aadchit el-Qsair killed another peacekeeper.
Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu ordered military expansion in southern Lebanon, pushing deeper to extend the buffer zone reaching the Litani River.
The far-right ministers of Israel have urged PM Netanyahu to annex southern Lebanon, as the military destroys bridges and homes to cut the area off from the rest of the country.
Reportedly, Israel has opened a new front in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, targeting road that link towns known to be Hezbollah strongholds and strategic supply lines for the group.
The Israel Hayom newspaper reported that Netanyahu had told US officials that any agreement with the US and Iran will not stop Israel’s war in Lebanon.
