Hostage Release Day 3: 14 Israeli, 3 Foreign Nationals Handed Over To Red Cross

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that it has received information from International Committee of the Red Cross that 14 Israeli hostages and three foreign national hostages have been transferred to the international agency on Sunday as part of the hostage release deal between Hamas and Israel. The foreigners include three Thais and one Russian national.
Meanwhile, Qatar, one of the mediation parties in the humanitarian truce between Israel and Hamas, said 39 Palestinians will be freed by the Israeli prison authorities in exchange on the third day of truce.
“In implementation of the commitments of the third day of the humanitarian truce agreement, 39 Palestinian civilians will be released in exchange for the release of 13 Israeli civilians from Gaza, in addition to a Russian national and 3 Thais who have already been handed over to the ICRC,” Dr Majed Al Ansari, spokesperson of Qatar foreign affairs ministry said.

According to a latest estimate by UNRWA, the United Nations agency for relief works Agency for Palestine refugees in the Near East, over 1.7 million individuals have faced displacement in the besieged coastal enclave of Gaza since October 7.

The UN agency, dedicated to offering relief to Palestinian refugees, further discloses that over 1 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) have sought refuge in 156 UNRWA facilities scattered throughout the Gaza Strip, with a significant concentration in the north. Additionally, close to 920,000 IDPs are taking shelter in 99 facilities situated in central Gaza, as well as in Khan Younis and Rafah.

In a significant development on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has visited Gaza, the coastal enclave that has been destroyed by the catastrophic bombardment, for the first time since the onset of the latest Israel-Hamas war.

Addressing soldiers, Netanyahu conveyed a resolute message, captured in footage posted online by his office, stating, “We continue until the end – until victory.” He said that, “Nothing will stop us, and we are convinced that we have the power, the strength, the will, and the determination to achieve all the war”s goals, and we will.”
