"India Is Our Friend", Says Saudi PM Mohammed Bin Salman On State Visit To India

Following the G20 leaders” summit in New Delhi, Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman”s state visit to India pronounces strategic dynamics and economies of both countries.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Salman signed on agreements regarding energy, petrochemicals, renewable energy, agriculture and other social and cultural sectors, says a report.

“We are glad to be in India…the relationship between India and the Arabian peninsula goes back to thousands of years in history”, said Mr. Salman during a ceremonial reception in New Delhi held in honour of his visit.

“The relationship between us is in our DNA in Saudi Arabia. India is our friend. They helped us build Saudi Arabia over the past 70 years. There is a lot of Saudi work in India, helping development”, he said.

Director of Strategic Technologies and Cyber Security Programme at the Middle East Institute, Mohammed Soliman said, “it signifies a desire to strengthen bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and India possible through trade agreements, investments or diplomatic cooperation”, cited ARAB NEWS.

Mr. Salman also attended Saudi – India strategic Partnership Council meeting held in New Delhi where he announced the relation between the two countries to be mutually beneficial.

Saudi Arabia is also the part of the mega economic corridor that was launched during the G20 summit an initiative to link railways, ports, electricity, data networks and hydrogen pipelines. The pioneering corridor will connect India and Saudi Arabia along with European Union and UAE.

“The India – Middle East corridor holds significant potential for strengthening the relationship and strategic resilience among Mediterranean states, the Gulf region and India – essentially forming a crucial geopolitical bridge between Europe and the Indo – Pacific”, Mr. Salman said.

“This corridor will not only connect the two countries, but promote economic cooperation, digital connectivity between Asia, West Asia and Europe”, said Mr. Modi in a footage broadcasted by state media.

When the emerging economies strives to concrete their power dynamics with neighbouring countries, Saudi – India ties is expected to manifest a broader shift towards multipolar world.
