The United Nation’s humanitarian agency (OCHA) said that the Israel authorities are denying the access of humanitarian aid to northern Gaza. They have blocked the delivery of medicines and fuel to run water and waste pumps in the besieged enclave of Gaza, UN agency added.

Since the beginning of January, only one of 19 planned missions delivering fuels and supplies for water facilities has been allowed north of Wadi Gaza, reports OCHA. Several UN agencies has requested for “faster, safer” aid access to Gaza as the population faces famine and the spread of disease, reports Al Jazeera.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres shared the post on X calling for safety for humanitarian staff delivering aid. “We can’t effectively deliver humanitarian aid while Gaza is under heavy, widespread & unrelenting bombardment,” he wrote.

Guterres while speaking to the reporters earlier has said that 152 UN staff members were killed in Gaza since October 7. He referred it to be “the largest single loss of life in the history of the organisation”. “A heart wrenching figure and a source of deep sorrow,” he added.

Last week in the ICJ court, South Africa has mentioned the Israel’s action in Gaza denying water access to the civilians. The lawyers of the South Africa cited the examples of Israeli officials including Defence Minister Yoav Gallant who said that Israel’s complete siege of Gaza includes “no water”.

During the court proceedings, South Africa has requested ICJ to ask Israel to “prevent… the deprivation of access to adequate food and water, medical supplies and assistance”, as one of several so-called provisional measures.

Meanwhile, the Israel force continues to launch its atrocities on Gaza. The death toll escalates to 24,100 and more than 60,800 people wounded after three months of war. Israel settlers continues its attack on Palestinian properties in West Bank. Dozens of Israel settlers attacked the vehicles of Palestinians in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, the Wafa news agency reported.
