Israel Planning Forced Relocation Of Palestinians To South Sudan: Report

Tel Aviv, Israel: Israel is reportedly conducting discussions with South Sudan to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza to the war-torn East African country, The Associated Press reported, citing sources.

The proposal to relocate Palestinians is part of Israel’s ongoing move to expel the people in Gaza, amid warnings from global agencies and human rights groups of a potential humanitarian catastrophe and violation of global law. Israel’s plan of forcible expulsion has ignited fears of mass murders and a clear case of ethnic cleansing.

It is believed that the Jewish nation would never allow Palestinians to return to Gaza if it relocated them from their ethnic place, and the mass departure would lead to Israel annexing the Strip, and establishing settlement there.

Several far-right leaders, including the minister in the ruling Netanyahu-led cabinet, have called for the forcible relocation of Palestinians, paving the way for Israeli settlement in Gaza.

South Sudan, where Israel plans to relocate Palestinians to, has long been struggling with civil war since its independence in 2011. As per a report, Israel and the US have also made similar Palestinian relocation proposals with Sudan, Somalia, and the breakaway region of Somaliland.
