Israel Finance Minister To Visit India: Major Economic Deals Likely: Report
New Delhi: Finance officials from Israel, led by Finance Minster Bezalel Smotrich are all set to visit India in September. The major objective of the high-level delegation would be to boost economic cooperation as several countries pull back ties with the Jewish nation in protest against its genocidal offensive in Gaza.
India is reportedly viewing Israel as a strong, emerging, and a reliable partner for collaboration and the potential meeting with officials from the West Asian country would finalize broad cooperation agreements, driving billions in trade and investment, reports Ynet news, citing sources.

Meanwhile, Israel, which is facing isolation in diplomatic relationships from several countries due to Gaza offensive, sees the development as a rare positive leap from the world’s most populous country, with roughly 1.5 billion people. The Jewish nation’s economic cooperation with India, one of the largest markets in the world, is expected to help Israel to overcome the deficits necessitated by the increasing isolation in the region.
Notably, the Israeli and Indian finance ministries have worked closely to create a wide-ranging cooperation framework in recent months. Both countries are working to boost bilateral investment and trade.
