The Israel military has intensified the bombardment on the Gaza strip after the military said that its ground forces are ‘expanding operations’ into the territory. The development came after the communication services across Gaza was completely cut-off which was then followed by a heavy round of Israeli airstrikes that lit up the sky over the darkened territory.

Hamas says they have confronted Israeli troops in various locations. On Friday night, multiple explosions from Israel airstrikes tore into the northern Gaza, flashes of bright orange shone in the night sky. After Israel knocked out internet and communication in Gaza, Palestinians trapped in the tiny besieged enclave had to witness pure horror last night. The only sounds of bombs striking onto the grounds every second, one after another followed throughout the night.

UN General Assembly called for a ‘humanitarian truce’ in Gaza. It was the first ever response to the ongoing genocide. The 193 members world body has voted to adopt the resolution. With a vote of 120-14 with 45 abstention UN passed the resolution by rejecting a Canadian amendment backed by United States to unequivocally condemn the “terrorist attacks” by Hamas and demand the immediate release of hostages taken by the militant group, says news agency AP.

While the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) has urged the United Nations and its organization and all humanitarian right organization to immediately intervene and restore access to communication in Gaza. They have said that Israeli targeting the cellular and internet networks to suppress information about the “new massacres” they would commit in the Palestinian territory in the following days, reports Al Jazeera.

Condemning the ongoing bombardment on Gaza, hundreds of protestors in black T-shirts filled New York City’s iconic Grand Central Terminal on Friday demanding a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. The protestors wore black t-shirt reading ‘Ceasefire now’ and ‘Not in our name’, unfurled banners calling for Palestinians and an end to the bombardment of Gaza. Police has arrested dozens of protestors. The group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) which has organized the demonstration posted the videos and photos showing police in the station alongside dozens of protestors whose arms had been tied behind their backs.

“Hundreds of Jews and allies are getting arrested in what is likely the biggest mass civil disobedience NYC has seen in two decades,” they wrote in a post on Instagram.

While Israel has continued its nightly raids in the occupied West Bank, storming Al Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah.

US officials has said to the American outlets that the US government has been pushing Israel ‘to adopt a narrow scope’ for its Gaza offensive. Meanwhile, just after US voted against a General Assembly resolution urging a truce, the US ambassador to the UN has called for the protection of Palestinian civilians.
