Israel aggression on Gaza continues as the world enters to a new year. The death toll in Gaza surpasses 22,000 as per the report of Health Ministry of Gaza and many remains under the rubbles to be rescued. The Wafa News Agency has reported that the attack on Monday night had hit a home and that the majority of the dead were women and children.

The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) has reported the first demolitions in 2024 of Palestinian-owned structures in the occupied West Bank. In a post on social media, they wrote, “2023 ended with 1,119 structures demolished and 2,210 people displaced, as a result, in the #WestBank”.

Israel carried out air strikes early on Tuesday morning that targeted locations on the outskirts of Damascus city and caused some marital damage, reports Syrian state news agency (SANA). Israel military has said that it has hit sites in Syria following attacks launched towards northern Israel from Syrian territory.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, medical evacuation process continues for the seriously injured patients. The Gaza ministry of health has published the names of 19 people who have now been approved evacuation through the Rafah Crossing with Egypt today. The group includes a two-week-old baby who is suffering from serious illnesses and injuries, including cancer. The authorities in Gaza also issued a list of Egyptian and Omani nationals who can travel through the Rafah crossing. The 127 enlisted people reached the site at 7 am to facilitate their travel.

Meanwhile, a group of 42 survivors of Hamas October 7 attack on the Supernova music festival in southern Israel have launched a civil suit seeking 200 million shekels in damages from the Israel army, Israel’s Ministry of Defence, the police force, and Shin Bet intelligence service. The plaintiffs has said that Israel army could have “saved lives” with a “single phone call” warning people to leave “immediately in view of the expected danger”.

While the world celebrated the New Years eve protesting at several locations calling out for ceasefire. Pro-Palestine protestors gathered with banners saying, “No celebration until liberation” in Melbourne and Victoria.
