No Hamas Tunnels Under Gaza Hospital, Sanad Investigation Breaks Israel’s Claim (image-twitter/netanyahu)
The Israel Defense Force on Sunday, November 5 claimed that they have uncovered Hamas hidden networks of tunnels, rocket launchers and command centres adjoining hospitals in the northern part of war-torn Gaza. But Sanad, Al Jazeera’s investigation agency brought out the truth behind Israel’s claim.
The Israel authorities claimed that there are tunnels under the Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Hospital, widely known as the Qatari hospital.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also shared a illustration-based video of Al Shifa hospital claiming to be used by Hamas.

This argument was brought by Israel in defense to their continuous bombing on hospital vicinities violating international laws.
The hospital which are claimed to be used by Hamas includes- Al Shifa hospital, Al Quds hospital and Qatari hospital.
The Israeli army posted a video on X claiming to reveal a passage entrance to the tunnel of Hamas fighters. They shared a drone footage showing a portal or hatch in front of the Al Shifa hospital.
However, the investigation team Sanad found that the hatch was simply a water reservoir used by the hospitals to fill therapeutic pools for amputees, water the grounds and to reserve water source incase of an emergency.
Sanad at first, cross-referred the drone footages to the satellite images of the claimed area. The team was also able to recover construction footages of the area which was published 8 years ago. By examining the footages, Sanad found out that the Israel claimed ‘tunnel’ structure was present at the time of the hospital construction. And the structure is nothing but a water reservoir.
To further verify, the investigation team was able to track down an engineer who worked on the construction site of the Al Shifa hospital. He gave the details about the structure by illustrating it through a diagram and said that the structure is of a water reservoir.
The hospital built by Qatar became operational in the year 2019. Due to severe bombardment by Israel, just like other hospitals in Gaza strip, it had also been damaged. Al Shifa hospital hosts a large number of patients as well as displaced people from across Gaza.
