Ramadan To Begin In Gulf Countries This Saturday
With the crescent Moon sighted on Friday, Saudi Arabia has confirmed that Ramadan will begin on Saturday, March 1, marking the start of the holy month of fasting and prayers for Muslims.
With the crescent Moon sighted, Muslims worldwide will begin observing Ramadan, a sacred month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. From dawn to sunset, they refrain from food and drink, breaking their fast with iftar.
Many perform Umrah during this time, with some arriving early to pray the first Taraweeh at the Grand Mosque, while others spend the final days in Makkah. Fasting is both a spiritual and personal journey, fostering discipline and empathy for the less fortunate. As Ramadan begins, communities unite in worship and togetherness, embracing the essence of faith, devotion, and compassion.
In a related development, the Kerala Hilal Committee has announced that the crescent moon was not sighted on the evening of February 28, 2025, marking the completion of Sha’ban month with 30 days.
According to PP Unneenkutty Maulavi, Chairman of the Kerala Hilal Committee, the first day of Ramadan 1446 AH will fall on March 2, 2025, Sunday.
