
Why Did Netanyahu Nominate Trump For Nobel Peace Prize?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for forging peace. Netanyahu handed over a copy of the nomination letter to President Trump during the dinner at the White House on Monday.
While presenting the nomination letter to Trump, the Israeli PM said, “I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee. It’s nominating you for the Peace Prize, which is well deserved, and you should get it”.

Netanyahu said that President Trump has realised great opportunities and forged the Abraham Accords. The Israeli PM acknowledged the leadership role of Trump in pursuit of peace and security, and in creating a free and a just world, especially in the Middle East.

Trump has reportedly described himself as a ‘peacemaker’ on multiple occasions. In a recent interview, the US President recounted his role in the India-Pakistan, Rwanda-Congo, and Serbia-Kosovo conflicts. He also mentioned stopping the India-Pakistan confict which was on the brink of using nuclear power.

Earlier in June Pakistan has also nominated US President for the Nobel Peace Prize for brokering the Pakistan’s ceasefire with India after the Operation Sindoor. However, a debate errupted in Pakistan over the nomination after the12 days Israel-Iran conflict and President Trumps’ role in attacking the nuclear facilites in Iran.
