Texas, United States: The US witnessed a flash flood along the Guadalupe River in Texas following heavy torrential rain before dawn on Friday. The flash flood has killed at least 24 people, and over 20 people are still missing. Emergency rescue teams are searching for the victims trapped in the water zones.
According to the authorities, around 23 to 25 girls attending Christian summer camp located on the banks of the rain-hit Guadalupe are missing in the floods.

Heavy downpours measuring up to 300mm (12 inches) of rain lashed out overnight in central Kerr County, causing flash flooding of the Guadalupe River. The sudden overflow of the river, with the water level increasing unexpectedly, left many stranded and drowned, including adults and children.
The US National Weather Service declared a flash flood emergency for parts of Kerr County. The catastrophic disaster has reportedly swept away several more people.

According to Dalton Rice, city manager for Kerville, the county seat, the sudden nature of the heavy rain gave no time for authorities to issue warnings or evacuation orders.
He said the incident occurred very quickly, over a very short period of time, that could not have been predicted, noting that it would not be seen not even with the radar.
