A 37-year-old English teacher named Jessica Sawicki in New Jersey in the United States was caught sexually assaulting a student at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area, according to a report by the New York Post. Sawicki allegedly admitted to authorities that she and the teen student met at an agreed time and place to have “unprotected” sex at least five times since December in the 6,393-acre state-owned wildlife management area, according to the report. The wildlife habitat is about a 20-minute drive from the school.
The teacher works at Hamilton High School West in Trenton and has been charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The report says the teacher and the school student were found in a state of undress by New Jersey Fish and Wildlife inspectors on Sunday. The two had sex in the back seat of the student”s car. The teen student is described as 16-years old.
The married teacher had reportedly written about her career profile in the now deleted “about the teacher” page of the school that reads, “This is my 7th year working at Hamilton West teaching English . . . I truly enjoy getting to know the students here and helping them become the best versions of themselves while they strive for their futures.” The school authorities have now removed the teacher”s profile from its page.
The teacher was arrested on Monday and remains lockups up at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, pending a detention hearing next week, the media house reported quoting authorities.
Sawicki was arrested Monday and remains locked up at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, pending a detention hearing next week, authorities said. As per a statement posted on the school”s district website, Ms Sawicki had been placed on administrative leave from her $41,000-per-year employment. “As a result of the information gathered, the school district took immediate action to place the individual on administrative leave. Our district fully cooperated with the prosecutor”s office during their investigation and will continue to do so, as needed, the post added.
Principal Brian Smith and Superintendent Scott Rocco of Hamilton Township School District said that the alleged incident went against the school”s professional standards. “We have no tolerance for any actions that harm or could potentially harm our students. The actions of one staff member do not represent the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. At this time there is no indication that any of the alleged actions took place on school property,” the Principal added.
