The Israel-Hezbollah escalation has turned deadly as the Jewish state continues to bomb across eastern and southern Lebanon. In the latest attack, at least 558 people were killed and more than 1,835 wounded, which included women, children and paramedics, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
Following the intense strike by Israel, Lebanon’s education minister has announced that schools will be closed for two days in areas hit by Israeli strikes. Israeli army said it struck about 300 targets across Lebanon today. Israeli air attacks has hit several towns, including Bint Jbeil, Aitaroun, Majdal Selem, Hula, Toura, Qlaileh, Haris, Nabi Chit, Tarayya, Shmestar, Harbata, Libbaya and Sohmor, mounting casualties.

The exchange of fire between Lebanese armed forces and Israel had started when Israel began its aggression in Gaza following the October 7 attack by Hamas. The decades-long clash between the two significantly escalated with Israel’s recent pager blasts across Lebanon, killing many including civilians when hundreds of electric devices used by civilians and Hezbollah members detonated. The blast has been allegedly carried out by the Israel Defence Force (IDF).
The following strike by the Jewish state killed some of the top commanders of Hezbollah, triggering retaliatory strikes from the group targeting several Israeli sites.
Israel has declared the country is entering a new phase to war while intensifying its attack in Lebanon. The head of Lebanese telecoms operator Ogero, Imad Kreidieh has said that the country has received more than 80,000 suspected Israeli call attempts today asking people to evacuate. He termed the calls a psychological warfare to make havoc and chaos.

Meanwhile, Israel has intensified its strike in Gaza, and the regime has hit at least three evacuation centres housing thousands of Palestinian families, according to a report by Al Jazeera. People in Gaza believe that the Jewish state is taking advantages of the attack in Lebanon to target more sites in Gaza.
Notably, Israel’s military spokesperson Danial Hagari says Israeli aircraft are preparing to attack Lebanon’s Bekaa valley, stating that it has started a widescale aerial offensive in Lebanon. Several entities have called for restraint, amid raising concerns of escalation in the region
Russia has warned Israel against escalation and the spokesperson has said that the situation is swiftly deteriorating every day. “Tension is growing, unpredictability is increasing. This is a matter of extreme concern for us,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
