Houthis Successfully Test Hypersonic Missile, Says Russian State Media (image@CENTCOM)
The Houthis have successfully tested hypersonic missiles, said the RIA Novosti, the Russian state media. According to RIA source, Houthi”s missile forces have successfully tested a missile that is capable of reaching speeds of up to Mach 8 (6,200 miles per hour) and runs on solid fuel.
Reportedly, the Russian military source said that the Yemeni group will manufacture the missile themselves for their military use in Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, and for its targets in Israel. Media reports suggest that Houthis new missile could reach Israel, which is 2000 miles away from Israel in just 10 minutes.
Ever since Israel started its deadly attack against the Palestinians of Gaza after the October 7th attack, Houthis started to attack ships and vessels passing through the Red Sea, vowing their solidarity with the Palestinians.
The Yemeni group started attacking ships that have links with Israel. The Red Sea attack has caused destruction on global trade as the region constitute to the 11 percentage of the marital trade around the world. To retaliate the Red Sea crisis, US led coalition was formed, which included nearly 20 countries which opposed the Houthi attacks.
US and UK carried out several attacks against Houthis. However, the Yemeni group did not back down from their stance that they will not stop the attacks, until Israel stop its genocidal war against Palestinians.
Earlier, this month at least three seafarers were killed in a Houthi attack. The incident was the first fatal attack by the Iran-aligned group that caused human fatalities. The US Military”s Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that at least three were killed and four were injured during the Houthi attack on a merchant vessel. According to CENTCOM, three out of the four injured are in critical condition.
