Iran Missiles Strike Israel After US-Israel Attack: What’s Happening Now
Iran has launched a fresh wave of missiles at Israel and targeted US military assets in the Gulf, sharply escalating tensions after joint US-Israel strikes on Tehran.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that multiple missiles were fired from Iran toward Israeli territory. Air raid sirens sounded across several cities, including Tel Aviv, and residents received emergency alerts on their mobile phones asking them to stay close to shelters.

The Israeli Air Force said its air defence systems were activated to intercept the incoming missiles, and most of the projectiles were neutralised mid-air.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the missile and drone launches, describing them as retaliation for the US-Israel attacks on Tehran earlier in the day.
At the same time, Iran targeted US military infrastructure in the Gulf. Bahrain confirmed that a missile strike hit an area linked to the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama.
Emergency sirens were activated across the city following the attack. The US Fifth Fleet oversees naval operations in the Gulf, Red Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean.
Explosions were also reported in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, amid heightened regional tensions. While Saudi authorities have not officially confirmed direct hits on military facilities, local reports indicated loud blasts and air defence activity over the city. Saudi Arabia had earlier placed its security forces on high alert as fears of a wider conflict grew.
Blasts were further heard in Abu Dhabi and Doha, home to key US air bases, though it remains unclear whether those installations were directly targeted.
The escalation comes after US President Donald Trump announced “major combat operations” in Iran, backing Israel’s pre-emptive strikes on what it described as strategic and military sites in Tehran.
