Russia”s Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas experienced a power outage after Ukraine”s drone strike on an electricity substation.

Several villages in Kursk region (bordering Ukraine) lost power supply after the said drone strike. Roman Starovoit, Governor of Kursk region said, “In the morning, a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive device on an electricity substation in the village of Snagost in Korenevsky District”. According to Mr. Starovoit, seven settlements suffered from power outage.  “None of the residents were injured. Emergency crew will start restoring power as soon as the situation allows”, he further added.

St. Petersburg airport and areas surrounding it went under temporary power outage after the residents reported about hearing loud sound and seeing a bright flash. According to Russia”s Interfax, a state run news agency, the temporary power outage has occurred inside the airport”s departure hall too.  According to Pulkovo airport, the power supply was restored “within one minute”.

Earlier today, Ukraine has claimed killing of Russia”s Black Sea fleet”s  Commander, Viktor Sokolov and another 34 after Ukraine missile Moscow”s naval head quarters in Crimea. However, Russia later produced a photography of Mr. Sokolov attending a video conference.

Russian drone attacks and shelling took six people”s life in Ukraine and caused “significant damage” to the infrastructure of Black Sea Port of Odesa. According to Odesa governor Oleh Kiper, storage facility containing 1000 tonnes of grain were hit by the Russian drone attack.

Taking to X (formerly twitter), Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that more than “160 companies from North America, Asia, Europe and Australia” are all set aid Ukraine by showing support and agreeing to come for the country”s Defence Industry”s Forum that will happen later this year.

The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine started after Russia declared its full scale invasion on Ukraine on 24 February, 2022. Though Russia had upper hand in the beginning, Ukraine”s counter offensive is getting stronger with aid from allies like US. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Supreme  Leader of North Korea met for the alleged weaponry deal between the two countries.
