A decent number of flights have been cancelled after the United Kingdom’s Manchester Airport experienced a power cut in the area. Sky News reported that severe delays and flight cancellations have caused major inconvenience to passengers.
Reportedly, the power cut has affected the airport and several other buildings in the area. Although the power has been restored, the services are expected to be severely impacted throughout the day.

In a statement released by the airport on Sunday, it said that the issue had caused “widespread disruption” affecting flights from Terminals 1 and 2.
“Following the power cut that affected Manchester Airport and the surrounding area earlier this morning, passengers due to travel from Terminals 1 and 2 are advised to contact their airlines before coming to the airport as a number of flights are likely to be cancelled,” said the airport on X (formerly known as Twitter).
At least six upcoming departures and four arrivals have been cancelled as of yet, according to the BBC.
The Manchester Airport advised passengers flying from Terminal 3 to come to the airport as usual unless advised otherwise by the flight. However, it added that flights are subject to some delay.
