Sourav Ganguly Reviews Ajay Devgn’s Maidan

Saurav Ganguly, cricket legend fondly known as Dada, after watching the recent film ‘Maidaan’, starring Ajay Devgn, has offered his take on the film through X. He, in his post has mentioned that watching ‘Maidaan’ was a cinematic experience. 

The film portrays the life of Indian football legend Syed Abdul Rahim. Sourav wrote, “Don’t miss out on the cinematic experience of #Maidaan, a captivating portrayal of India’s legendary football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim, and the golden era of Indian football. Witness the iconic Indian football stars brought back to life on the big screen in this must-watch Indian sports film.”

The movie which was released on Eid has garnered glowing reviews from both critics and audiences alike. Fans are lauding the stellar performance of Ajay Devgn in the film. 

Director-producer Karan Johar has also praised the film on Instagram and said he couldn’t wait to watch the film. Veteran writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar too took to social media to shower praise on the sports drama. 

The film has opened to overwhelming reviews from all quarters. On day 2, the movie earned Rs 2.75 crore, taking the total tally to Rs 9.85 crore. 

Directed by Amit Sharma, the film ‘Maidaan’ is a biographical sports drama featuring Ajay Devgn in the role of football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim. The screenplay is co-written by Salwyn Quadras, Aman Rai, Atul Shahi and Amit Sharma. Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film features Priyamani, Gajaraj Rao, Devyansh Tripathi, Boney Kapoor, Nitanshi Goel and Aayesha Vindhara in pivotal roles.
