As the world’s biggest democratic event, the Lok Sabha elections 2024, concludes its first phase, social media has taken notice of a Saharanpur polling officer, Isha Arora, in Gangoh assembly constituency.

A State Bank of India (SBI) employee, Isha Arora, is serving as the first polling officer at Garhi village’s polling booth in Madari village of the Gangoh assembly constituency in Saharanpur. Arora’s video went viral across social media after she was dispatched along with other polling officers.

She has been on election duty twice. Her pictures from Madari village have been circulating across social media platforms. Videos of a sunglasses wearing Arora carrying election materials have caught the attention of people.

In an interview with ANI, the polling officer emphasized the importance of punctuality when on duty. She said, “I think that if you get any duty, you should be punctual, and that’s the reason I have assumed my duty on time. Every man and woman should be punctual to let the functioning be smooth.”

When asked about her videos and pictures going viral, Arora laughed and said that she has not been able to see the videos or read any comments since she has been on duty. “I didn’t get time to watch it (comments) in the video. It’s election time and it was my duty to come on time hence I was busy.”

Arora emphasized that people find punctuality and devotion to an individual’s work, which leads to the videos going viral. She added that beauty has nothing to do with it. “It goes viral due to my punctuality and devotion…” she said.
