The refreshed Citroen C3 hatchback now boasts previously absent features, including an option for an automatic transmission. The Citroen C3 has been updated since its debut in 2022 and sees a price increase ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, depending on the variant.
What’s new?
The design of the C3 remains the same as the Citroen hatchback still looks contemporary. The car now sports LED projector headlamps replacing the standard halogen lights and continues to sport the twin LED DRLs. The indicators are now merged with the outside rearview mirrors. Speaking of the ORVMs, they are now electrically adjustable with a smart key fob.
Feature upgrade
Citroen has new cabin with features like automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system and steering-mounted controls. The mid-level variant onwards comes standard with 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX, and seat belt reminder in terms of safety. The eC3 has received a 0 star Global NCAP crash safety rating, which is positioned on the same CMP skateboard as the C3. The powertrains are the same.
Automatic Transmission and Specifications
The C3 finally will be able with an automatic transmission mated to a 6-speed automatic torque converter like the C3 Aircross and the coupe SUV, the Basalt. It retains the two 1.2-litre petrol engines. The naturally aspirated has an output of 80 bhp and 115 Nm with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.2-litre turbo, on the other hand, will come with two power outputs and two gearboxes. The 6-speed manual churns out 108 bhp and 190 Nm while the new automatic version will pump out 108 bhp but a higher torque output of 205 Nm.
Price
The entry-level Live variant’s price remains the same at Rs 6.16 lakh, ex-showroom. The Feel trim is now Rs 20,000 more premium and is priced at Rs 7.47 lakh, ex-showroom. The top model Shine comes in six options and starts from Rs 8.09 lakh to Rs 9.41 lakh, ex-showroom. . It is not priced well when compared to feature-rich vehicles like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Xcent.
Citroen has also fixed some ergonomic quirks that remained with the C3 since launch. The main reason for this is the position of the power window controls.
