2025 Volvo XC90 Facelift Launched At Rs 1.03 Crore With Mid-Cycle Update

The Volvo XC90 facelift, which retails for Rs 1.03 crore (ex-showroom), has made its debut in India. The updated XC90 SUV has a few design and technological improvements over the previous model, but it costs a little more. The Volvo XC90 SUV’s general design is still reminiscent of the previous generation. Nonetheless, the all-electric Volvo EX90 served as the model for many of the updated external stylistic features, including as the new alloy wheels, thinner “Thor” hammer headlamps, updated bumpers, darker taillights, and a reworked grille with diagonal slats (see table below for XC90 measurements). If the air suspension is used, the ground clearance increases from 238mm to 267mm.

There’s one new colour option available on the XC90 facelift: Mulberry Red. The other five – Onyx Black, Crystal White, Denim Blue, Bright Dusk, and Vapour Grey – continue to be offered.

Although the new XC90’s cabin appears largely familiar, it also has elements that are reminiscent of the EX90 SUV, such as the upholstery’s use of recycled materials, which is consistent with the automaker’s goal to employ sustainable materials in its vehicles. Additionally, Volvo’s flagship XC90 model now boasts a bigger 11.2-inch touchscreen that supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and is powered by Google software. Additionally, the Swedish automaker asserts that the touchscreen’s resolution has been enhanced for portrait mode. Features including memory seats, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera system, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and an air purifier (with a PM 2.5 filter) continue to be offered with the updated XC90.

The same 2.0-liter turbo-petrol mild-hybrid engine, which generates 250 horsepower and 360 Nm of maximum torque, powers the updated XC90. Because the Volvo XC90 has AWD, the automatic transmission powers all four wheels, enabling it to accelerate from a stop to 100 kph in 7.7 seconds. The 2025 Volvo XC90 facelift competes with the German trinity of the Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, and Audi Q7, with the Audi being the most reasonably priced in this market. It costs Rs 2 lakh more than the previous model (Rs 1.01 crore). Mercedes and BMW SUVs have the choice of both gasoline and diesel engines, while Volvo, like the Q7, does not offer a diesel engine.
