Affordable VinFast EVs VF7 And VF6 Arriving In 2026
Vietnamese automaker Vinfast made a big impression at the just-finished Auto Expo 2025 by displaying its whole worldwide lineup. Vinfast plans to introduce the VF7 SUV over the holiday season and then release more affordable versions the following year, as the Tamil Nadu facility is still on track despite recent flooding.
The VF7 will be positioned as the mid-segment luxury model first. Since the target market is middle-class, high-end consumers, Vinfast has attempted to introduce the best model in the mid-premium market for India. The VF6 will then be launched, followed by the VF3 the following year.

Vinfast has stated that the VF7, which is expected to be released over the holiday season, would be its debut model for India. The VF7 will be Vinfast’s flagship model for India, even though the company has larger and more expensive variants like the VF8 and VF9 that are well-liked in countries like North America and the Middle East.
Starting with CKD operations and a 50,000-unit capacity, the business intends to scale up to 150,000 units while using a top-down strategy to grow their range from premium to mass-market sectors. If necessary, it can also support goods like VF3, VF5, and e34 since the 50,000 capacity can hold a variety of product combinations that are prepared for right-hand drive.

Before the mass-market versions start to arrive next year, the business claims it has already started working with local suppliers and intends to gradually increase the local content. In order to localise cells and battery packs, Vinfast is also looking for possible partners. We will immediately achieve between 30 and 40 percent localization if we can manufacture the batteries locally.
Building a positive brand image will be essential if the business is to establish a strong foothold in a competitive market like India. Even if you have the items, it will be very hard to make an impression without the right network and communication (consider Citroen, for instance). Vinfast intends to use the parent firm Vingroup’s brand image in this way.
Similar to Tata in India, this is the largest private corporation in Vietnam, operating a wide range of enterprises. Additionally, there are often half a million visitors to Vietnam, who encounter the VinGroup brand in all of the automobiles, hotels, and retail centres.
The business had intended to begin with the VF7 and VF6, concentrating on metropolitan areas with existing EV infrastructure. Then, when more reasonably priced solutions become available in the markets where the most momentum occurs the next year, it will progressively grow. We will initially concentrate on markets where EVs are currently being purchased. For example, since big markets like Punjab aren’t now purchasing EVs, we could even postpone their arrival. The dealerships will be put up appropriately, without going overboard. The emphasis will be on excellent personnel and service quality because, after all, clients are aware that the expense is solely theirs.
