January has gone by so fast. While two-wheeler manufacturers Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Suzuki, and Royal Enfield have declared their January 2025 sales, automakers including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mahindra, and Toyota have disclosed their January sales.Internal combustion engines and electric cars from the two- and four-wheeler divisions are among the sales. Here are all the specifics on the growth they saw in January 2025 as opposed to January 2024.
Demand has increased significantly for the six-pack model range, which includes the Wagon R, Baleno, new Swift, Celerio, Ignis hatchbacks, and the Dzire sedan (82,241 units, up 7% YoY), but the two low-cost hatchbacks, the Alto and S-Presso, are still feeling the effects of reduced demand (14,247 units, down 11% YoY). It’s surprising that the high-end Ciaz car has 768 units and a 53% YoY growth rate. Even if sales of the 11,250 Eeco vans are 7% lower than they were a year ago, the vehicle is still in production. Compared to a high year ago, the UV portfolio, which includes the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6, sold 65,093 units, a 5% increase.

Maruti Suzuki’s UVs continue to offset the drop in sales of its sedans and passenger cars when it comes to cumulative sales. Total SUV and MPV dispatches are up 12% YoY in the April 2024–January 2025 period at 594,056 units. This has kept the company’s overall passenger vehicle sales from going into the red, despite car and sedan sales falling a steep 9% to 741,707 units from 811,293 units a year earlier. Due to the fact that the firm only shipped 2,341 more units than it did in April 2023–January 2024, the 14,49,233 units sold in the first 10 months of FY2025 represent flat sales.
Similar to the rest of the Indian auto industry, Maruti Suzuki India will gain from the significant income tax relief included in the Union Budget 2025–2026. With zero income tax up to Rs 12 lakh, more money will be available for the purchase of vehicles and other goods and services. As a result, the PV market leader’s sales figures should improve in the upcoming months.
The majority of auto and motorcycle manufacturers have released their sales figures thus far. Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hero MotoCorp, TVS, and Suzuki have all seen notable increases in sales. With the launch of the Creta EV, sales of the Hyundai Creta reached their greatest monthly sales ever, while Tata Motors saw a dip in sales.
