On December 19, Kia India is scheduled to unveil the Syros, their brand-new small SUV.
It was said that the Syros will have two engine options when it goes on sale in January, ahead of its global premiere.
Kia India appears to be defying the trend by launching its fifth product in India with a diesel engine, when the majority of automakers are hesitant to introduce new models with this power.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers several Kia and Hyundai cars in the nation will be standard on the Syros.
In our market, this engine powers the Sonet, Venue, Seltos, Carens, Creta, and Alcazar. It produces 115 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.
As for gearbox options, the Syros diesel will come with a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque convertor automatic just like the one seen on the Sonet.

There will also be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 120 horsepower and 172 Nm
in the Syros.
It will have both a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission and a manual gearbox.
The 1.2-liter gasoline engine with natural aspiration that is offered for the Sonet will not be available for the Syros.
The Kia Syros will see a global debut on December 19. A pricing announcement may be
made in January, most likely during the Bharat Mobility Show, where the SUV will be unveiled to the public for the first time.
By the end of January or the beginning of February of next year, Kia will begin shipping the Syros to consumers.
