With the release of the ES sedan’s second facelift at the Auto Guangzhou exhibition in China, Lexus demonstrated the vehicle’s ongoing appeal in markets such as China and India. Sharper matrix LED headlights, a revised spindle grille, and an LED light bar linking revamped taillights are all elements of the upgraded ES. Its inside is sleeker, including fewer physical buttons and a bigger 14-inch touchscreen. With its anticipated arrival in India next year, the revised ES is anticipated to keep its 218 horsepower hybrid drivetrain, enhancing its appeal as a luxury sedan.
The next, eighth-generation Lexus ES sedan may still be a ways off, based on the facelift. The outer appearance of the updated ES has changed, while the inside has less buttons. As an aside, the ES sedan is not only a well-liked model for Lexus in India, where it accounted for 58% of the brand’s sales in October, but it is also in high demand in China, where more than 10 lakh units have been sold to far.
The redesigned ES has a new spindle grille design on the exterior that appears to be based on the RX. There are new boomerang-shaped DRLs and crisper matrix LED headlights. The somewhat modified taillights now have an LED light bar connecting them, and they also have L-shaped LEDs.
There are fewer physical buttons overall, particularly around the centre console and gear lever, and the ES’s cockpit now has a bigger 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that also contains all of the climate control system’s functions. The dash and doors are also trimmed with what Lexus refers to as “Silver Lance Moon Ridge.” Chinese buyers may specify their ES with a two-tone Tanzanite Snow Night or a Snowy Night White interior décor.
The ES facelift is not mechanically altered for the Chinese market, and it is probably going to be introduced in India in a same way. Its 2.5-liter petrol-electric hybrid powertrain produces 218 horsepower, and its retail price in India ranges from Rs 64.00 lakh to Rs 69.70 lakh. It competes with the Volvo S90, Mercedes E-Class, and BMW 5 Series. Although a debut date for the updated ES in India is not yet set, it is anticipated that Lexus India would do so next year.
While keeping its tried-and-true hybrid drivetrain, the updated Lexus ES sedan has a combination of sophisticated exterior changes and updated interiors. The brand’s emphasis on luxury and technology is in line with its improved infotainment system, fewer tactile buttons, and sharper appearance. With its high level of popularity in China and India, the revised ES is set to further establish its place in the market for high-end sedans. It will continue to compete with cars such as the Volvo S90, Mercedes E-Class, and BMW 5 Series when it launches in India next year.
