Six airbags are now standard on the Maruti Alto K10, as they are on all other models. Depending on the model, the Alto K10’s price has gone up by as much as Rs 16,000 after this update. Additionally, Maruti has eliminated the (O) suffix from the names of the Alto K10 models. There are no technical changes, though; the factory-fitted CNG variant and the 67-hp, 1.0-liter gasoline engine that runs on E20 fuel and has manual and AMT choices remain.

Although not to the same extent, Maruti has increased the Alto K10’s pricing, similar to what it did with the Celerio and Brezza after adding six airbags. The price of the base Alto K10 STD has increased by Rs 14,000, while the LXI, VXI, and VXI+ models. In addition to six airbags, the Maruti Alto K10’s safety package features electronic stability program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS), luggage-retention crossbars, rear parking sensors, 3-point seat belts for all rear passengers, and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD).

Six airbags are now standard on all models of Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza subcompact SUV, a company that is frequently blamed for putting economy above safety. This crucial safety feature was previously only available on the top-tier ZXI+ trim. Although the price of the Brezza has increased in tandem with this improvement, the move itself is a significant step forward.

Unquestionably, Indian vehicle purchasers are becoming more and more concerned about safety. But the quest for improved safety features sometimes seems to lag, with insurance firms occasionally seeming to be the main forces behind change rather than manufacturers who proactively put the welfare of their passengers first. This is further supported by the fact that the Brezza was among the last vehicles in its class to come equipped with six airbags as standard. Six airbags are still not standard on rival models such as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Fronx, and Renault Kiger.

In addition to airbags, Maruti has closed another significant safety gap by making adjustable rear headrests and a three-point seatbelt for the centre passenger seat standard. Despite their apparent simplicity, these modifications are essential for occupant protection. Together with already-existing features like hill-hold assist, ABS, and ESC, the Brezza now offers a more complete safety package.
