Suzuki has expanded its V-Strom 800 range with the introduction of the 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800RE Touring variant, aimed at catering to enthusiasts with a penchant for road-biased touring. This latest addition joins the existing lineup, which includes the standard model and the off-road-focused 800DE variant recently launched in India.

2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800RE Touring: Enhanced Touring Features

The V-Strom 800RE Touring variant builds upon the standard model, offering additional touring-friendly accessories as standard features. These include side panniers and a top box, providing a generous cumulative storage space of 112 litres. Notably, these accessories are the same ones offered as optional add-ons for the standard variant. Currently, the Touring variant is on sale in the United Kingdom, providing customers the option to select from either silver or black three-piece luggage sets. With an on-the-road price of approximately Rs 11.76 lakh, customers stand to save approximately Rs 74,000 compared to equipping the standard V-Strom 800RE with individual accessories.

Suzuki V-Strom 800RE: Features and Design

The V-Strom 800RE Touring is available in three striking shades: blue, matt steel green, or black. Apart from the addition of touring accessories, the rest of the bike”s details remain identical to the standard V-Strom 800. Noteworthy features include a three-colour TFT dash, three selectable power modes, switchable traction control, a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard, and three traction modes.

2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800RE: Performance Specifications

In terms of performance, the V-Strom 800RE shares similarities with the 800DE variant. It features a Showa suspension setup optimized for on-road performance, offering 150mm of travel at both the front and rear. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminum wheels, with braking handled by Nissin radial calipers.

Ergonomics and Powertrain

The V-Strom 800RE prioritizes rider comfort with ergonomics tailored for touring. Aluminum, rubber-covered footpegs are positioned 14mm further rearward and 7mm higher than the 800DE, while aluminum tapered handlebars sit 13mm lower and 23mm further forwards.

Powering the V-Strom 800RE is a reliable 776cc parallel-twin engine equipped with a 270-degree crankshaft, delivering 83 bhp and 78 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch for smooth and responsive power delivery to the rear wheel.
