Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to get a third term, according to the exit polls being released right after the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections. As per four exit polls released today evening, NDA will get over 350 seats, while the Congress-led INDIA bloc will get 125-150 seats.
Based on the exit polls results coming out, the BJP is also expected to win more than 21 seats in West Bengal, improving its 2019 results. The BJP is expected to sweep Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, winning all the Lok Sabha seats. The party is projected to lead in Telangana and make its debut in Tamil Nadu, according to India Today-Axis My India exit poll.
Based on at least four exit polls, the BJP is likely to become the single-largest party in West Bengal in terms of Lok Sabha seats. In 2019, the party won 18 of the state’s 42 seats while TMC won 22 seats
Meanwhile in Tamil Nadu, exit poll predictions reveal that the DMK-led Tamil Nadu is likely to win 37-39 seats. However, the AIADMK is predicted to have performed poorly and will not win any seats, as per ABP News-CVoter. The INDIA bloc, which includes DMK and Congress, is predicted to win 33-37 seats in the state. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) could secure up to seven Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu, a state where PM Modi’s party has historically struggled in both central and state elections.
As per at least four exit polls released right after the completion of Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA will win 1 to 3 seats in Kerala. The BJP-led NDA has won a seat in Kerala’s history only in 2004, when PC Thomas won from Muvattupuzha.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Supriya Shrinate dismissed the predictions. In a video bite given to news agency ANI, the Congress social media in-charge said, “These are Narendra Modi’s exit polls. The exit poll from the public gives 295 seats to INDIA, and this number will only increase.”
