Updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 Launched, At Rs 2 Lakh

Royal Enfield has launched the updated Classic 350 range after revealing it fully last month, with prices ranging between Rs 1,99,500 and Rs 2,30,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai). The Feature-set has been upgraded on all variants. The new launch is mechanically identical to previous model with all variants now getting dual-channel ABS.

The mechanicals underneath that classically styled silhouette remain the same, with the familiar J-platform air-cooled, 349cc, single-cylinder motor at the heart of the Classic 350. The 20hp and 27Nm output figures and cycle parts haven’t strayed from the previous model. The only change to the previous bike is that the Classic 350 now cannot be had with just single-channel ABS, and variants that had a rear drum brake have now been discontinued.

Royal Enfield has changed the variant now, with the five variants being called Heritage (Rs 1,99,500), Heritage Premium (Rs 2.04 lakh), Signals (Rs 2.16 lakh), Dark (Rs 2.25 lakh) and Chrome (Rs 2.30 lakh). The new pricing for the Classic 350 is a small rise over the earlier model’s price, which was in the range of Rs 1.93 lakh-Rs 2.25 lakh. The Classic 350 has a long list of rivals who want to carve out their piece from its large pie: Triumph Speed 400 (Rs 2.35 lakh), Harley-Davidson X440 (Rs 2.40 lakh-Rs 2.80 lakh), Jawa 350 (Rs 2.15 lakh) and Honda CB350 (Rs 2 lakh-Rs 2.18 lakh).

This update to Royal Enfield’s bestselling model focuses on upgrading the features. To recap, the Classic 350 is now available with LED pilot lights, a headlight and a tail-lamp on all variants, with LED indicators reserved for the top two variants. The top two variants also get the Tripper navigation pod and adjustable levers as standard, which are optional extras on the rest.

A Royal Enfield Classic 350 cc now comes equipped with a gear position indicator on the LCD beneath the analogue speedometer, alongside an upgraded Type-C charging port. The premium Dark and Emerald (Chrome) variants offer extra standard features such as the Tripper navigation pod, adjustable clutch and brake levers, and LED indicators. The company launched a new programme i.e., “Factory Customs Programme” which allows customers to customize their motorcycles from the factory itself. What remains unchanged is its retro spirit, seemingly from another era.
