Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid Launched At This Price With Starter Motor Generator, Stop/Start System
The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid costs Rs 1.45 lakh when it is first released. It now has a mildly hybrid technology akin to Yamaha scooters, an OBD2B-compatible engine, and a Starter Motor Generator (SMG). It also has a 4.2-inch TFT screen that can be accessed using a smartphone.
Using a moderate hybrid technology that employs an SMG akin to that used in several Yamaha and TVS scooters, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid was on display at the Auto Expo 2025. By instantly cutting the engine in traffic and resuming with a rapid clutch movement, this motor helps with a silent start and also serves as a start/stop system. A tiny battery-assisted acceleration boost that is accessible for brief periods of time contributes to the hybrid function and improves fuel efficiency.
The same 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates 12.4 horsepower and 13.3 Nm and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox powers this motorbike. Although it now conforms with more stringent OBD2B standards, this mill is identical to the conventional type. The FZ-S Hybrid weighs 138 kg, which is 1-2 kg more than the standard FZ-S V4 bikes. A new 4.2-inch color TFT dash with smartphone integration and Bluetooth connectivity sets it apart from the conventional model and provides a ton of extra features. Among its many features are geo-fencing, audio control, turn-by-turn navigation connected to Google Maps, and last-parked position.
As for the smaller changes, Yamaha has optimised the handlebar position, repositioned the horn switch, and adjusted the switchgear for better accessibility while wearing gloves. Another change is the addition of two new colours: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey. At Rs 1.45 lakh, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid commands a Rs 10,000 premium over the standard FZ-S Fi, which continues to be listed on the Yamaha website.
The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid debuts at Rs 1.45 lakh, featuring a mild-hybrid system, OBD2B compliance, and a 4.2-inch TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. With enhanced fuel efficiency, silent start/stop, and battery-assisted acceleration, it offers a refined riding experience. Weighing 138 kg, it also gets new colors, repositioned controls, and improved ergonomics, justifying its Rs 10,000 premium.
