“In case there is a violation, DGCA takes enforcement action as per its Enforcement Policy and Procedure Manual,” the Minister said.

The Minister further said that after an Air India Boeing 787 (flight AI-171) had an accident on June 12, 2025, the aviation regulator ordered inspections on all 33 of Air India’s 787-Dreamliner planes. Among the 31 aircraft that were operational, 8 had minor issues. The issues got fixed and the planes are now back in service. The other 2 aircraft were under scheduled maintenance, the minister added.

Besides, the DGCA has also issued a new General Safety Circular (01/2025) on July 19 to conduct a special audit and improve aviation safety architecture.
