Bengaluru, Karnataka: The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday conducted raids on two online gaming firms – Winzo and Gamezkraft (pocket52.com). The raid was held at firms operating from Bengaluru and Delhi following complaints of manipulated algorithms to deceive players, putting them at a disadvantage.

The law enforcement agency has raided as many as 11 locations, including five in Bengaluru, four in Delhi, and two in Gurgaon. All are operated by Winzo and Gamezkraft.

The raids were carried out by the ED’s Bengaluru Zonal Office. There have been allegations of rigged algorithms in online gaming. The search has revealed that the promoters hold crypto wallets, suggesting possible laundering through cryptocurrencies, reports news agency ANI citing sources.

The FIRs filed by the victims of the rigged algorithms alleged that these gaming companies had manipulated the algorithm of the app, putting the gamers at a disadvantage. “During the search, it was unearthed that promoters owned crypto wallets, indicating laundering through cryptocurrencies,” the news agency quoted the ED officials.
