CPIM Announces March To ED Headquarters As Raid Underway At Ex-CM Pinarayi Vijayan's Houses

Kochi, Kerala: The CPI(M) has declared a protest march toward Enforcement Directorate (ED) headquarters at Kochi. The march will be conducted at around 2 pm today, May 27, at ED Cochin Zonal Office, located in Kadavanthra as a raid is underway across over 10 locations in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) and Exalogic.

The protest march will be led by party national General Secretary M A Baby. As the raid continues, a ruckus has erupted outside Pinarayi Vijayan’s house as party workers try to barge into Vijayan’s house. Senior CPI(M) leaders including former education minister V Shivankutty, who were present at the premises, calmed down the situation.

Many people, including several senior leaders, gathered outside the former chief minister’s house as officials continued to search the house, where the chief minister and his family are present, according to reports.

As the raid was ongoing, Kerala’s former Minister for Public Works and Tourism and Beypore MLA, PA Mohamed Riyas, wrote a cryptic social media post stating, “Attack us from all sides, but we will not bow before the Sangh Parivar. Will fight till the last breath.”

In a social media post on Wednesday, the CPI(M) denounced the ED raid on Vijayan’s house, noting that it is a targeted attack on a top opposition leader by the BJP government, and that such actions will not intimidate Pinarayi Vijayan or the CPIM.

“Is the UDF government complicit in this raid?” the party asked.
