It’s mega shopping extravaganza raining all around with Flipkart, Amazon and JioMart pampering their customers with top choices and discount offers. Flipkart’s with its ‘The Big Billion Days’ (TBBD) is celebrating a decade of delivering value and convenience, the news release of the e-commerce company said. India’s homegrown Flipkart’s tenth edition of TBBD 2023 has had above 91 million visits in the first day and early access, the news release added. The sale would be on till October 15.

The early access had begun on October 7 for VIP and Plus customers while officially the TBBD began on October 8, 2023. This is the tenth edition of the e-commerce company’s TBBD which also saw a growth of 7X increase in orders above daily transactions. Flipkart has involved new generation technologies such as, Metaverse, GenAI, and AR/VR, with an aim to bring in a smooth and intuitive experience for the first-time customers of the site.

The mega shopping platform has huge price discounts on smartphones, electronics, accessories, home appliances and on more products. Smartphones are a segment which has exciting price discounts on offer. Sales on segments like Mobiles, Appliances, Lifestyle products, Beauty and General Merchandise and Electronics products are vibrant, the release said. In the sections to smartphones in the range of Rs. 20k plus has found a huge demand in metro and tier 2 customers. The early access period of the sale found demands for products to grooming, Food and Nutrition, Make-up and Fragrances. The TBBD offers spreads over to the company”s other services like travel services too.

The cities Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad registered the highest number of customers with Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and Gurgaon tagging along. Hisar, Lucknow and Patna also saw increasing shoppers in the festive season. Flipkart, through their Samarth programme, has wide range of sellers including artisans, craftsmen, women sellers and people with disabilities and MSMEs.

During the first day of early access, the payment solutions, Flipkart pay later recorded 5X increase in transactions, and EMI payments recorded 20X increase. There was an increase in redemption of Gift Cards at 5X and various insuretech VAS products at 7.5X.

The Flipkart acquired Cleartrip saw travel destinations to non-metro cities such as Goa, Jaipur, Udaipur, Varanasi, Ooty during the festive season. The company’s service arm, Jeeves, saw over 10K installations during the early access and day 1, with TV standing out as the most installed product.
