Milma Hikes Milk Price By Rs 4 Per Litre From Today, 83% Of Extra Revenue To Dairy Farmers

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF) has revised Milma milk and associated dairy products effective from Monday, June 1. The price hike marks a sharp jump to Rs 4, taking the retail price to Rs 56 per litre.

Notably, the prices of associated dairy products, including curd, ghee, and peda will also be hiked along with milk. According to the reports, the price revision comes due to soaring prices for cattle feed and distribution costs, in addition to the demand for increased production.

According to the reports, around 83.75% of the additional revenue is being passed directly to local dairy farmers. According to Milma, the revised price will be printed over existing packaging stocks that bear the old rates.

Notably, the decision to implement a uniform price hike of Rs 4 per litre was finalised during a Milma board meeting held on May 20, in a relief to the dairy farmers and aiming at benefiting the sector.
