West Asia Conflict: Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights

Amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran,  Air India cancelled its flight operation to and from Tel Aviv on Thursday. The operations were suspended till August 8.

Following, several other global airlines including Swiss International Airlines, United Airlines, Germany’s Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Delta Airlines and ITA Airways cancelled their operations to Israel.

“In view of the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East, we have suspended scheduled operation of our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect up to and including 08 August 2024. We are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this period, with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges,” an Air India statement said.

Citing operational reasons, Air lndia had cancelled a scheduled flight from New Delhi to Tel Aviv on Thursday. The airline operates four flights from Delhi to Tel Aviv every week.

The tension escalated in the Middle East in the wake of assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
