Regarding the news circulating about the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announcement of the Class 10 and 12 board exams 2025 syllabus and exam pattern changes allegedly announced at the principal’s summit in Indore, the CBSE has issued a clarification. The CBSE said that the news which is circulating on several media and online platforms about the board’s announcement regarding the syllabus reduction for classes 10 and 12 by up to 15% and increased weightage to the internal assessment is not correct.

The board clarified that CBSE has not taken any decision about a change in exam pattern and internal assessment nor has any official information been released by the board.

The CBSE board denied any policy decision taken about the exam pattern, syllabus, and format of the exam. The board advised students to check the official website for any news with regards to the CBSE.

The news that was circulated on the media mentioned the CBSE regional meeting held in Indore where Vikas Kumar Agarwal, the CBSE Bhopal regional officer said that the Board has taken several decisions about the upcoming exams.

As per the false news, the major advancement was that the weightage for internal assessments had been increased to 40% and the remaining 60% will be based on the final board exams. The internal assessment includes projects, assignments, and periodic tests to promote a more balanced and continuous evaluation system.

CBSE plans to introduce an open-book examination format for select subjects including English literature and Social Sciences. Additionally, For 2025 there is a single-term board exam structure and from the academic session 2025-26, the two-term format will be reintroduced. However, now the board has denied any such changes and asked students to remain aware of any misleading news.
