Once a UPSC success story, IAS Dhiman Chakma, a 2021 batch officer, has come under a major corruption probe after being caught red-handed taking a Rs 10 lakh bribe in Odisha. Another 47 Lakh rupees have been seized from his government residence.
Dhiman Chakma once promised to lift the poor and serve the Northeast, but has fallen into infamy after being caught in a bribery case. After the case resurfaced, an online video of Chakma’s interview after the selection is going viral, where he can be seen talking about the welfare of society and lifting the poor.

Dhiman Chakma became the inspiration for many after securing IAS in the UPSC exam and getting 201 marks in the interview. The 2021 batch IAS officer cleared the UPSC exam with rank 484. After being caught in a corruption case, the ethics paper copy of Chakma is going viral, where he wrote that if individuals are ignorant, then corruption increases.
