The Training and Placement Cell, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi received 1044 offers till February 1, including 11 international offers under its placement drive conducted for the academic session 2023-24.
Among total 1,440 placements, 310 students received offers under pre-placement with highest domestic package of Rs 1.68 crore. The highest international offer received was 77 Lakh. While the mean salary stood at Rs 23 lakh per annum. The placement drive has been organised by the Training and Placement Cell, IIT BHU Varanasi.
According to the information provided by the Training and Placement Cell, Engineering and Technology saw highest paid offers in the IT industry, Fintech Space and India’s growing startup sector.

Sector-wise placement distribution observed 52% in the SDE/ML/DS/Quant sectors, 31% in Analytics/Product/Business and 17% offers were received under core category.
Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector offered significant opportunities at IIT BHU. Areas such as Product Management and Management Consulting roles also observed progress in recruitment.
The IIT BHU placement drive began on December 3, 2023 is still in progress and has obtained 200 domestic and international companies so far. Top recruiters under the current placement drive includes OLA, Qualcomm, HSBC, Medianet, Groww, Navi, Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Cipla, TATA, Samsung, Flipkart, Wells Fargo, PLUTUS, Securities Research and Bharat Petroleum participated for the placement.
As early as 1977–1978, the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) established the Training and Placement Cell as a distinct division inside the Institute. The Cell has been organizing final-year student placements in a variety of enterprises and research groups since its founding.
Last year also around 1240 placement offers were provided at IIT BHU campus with 1217 domestic offers and 43 international offers.
