Jamia Millia Islamia University Introduces Self-financed Programmes For B.Tech And M.Tech.

Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced the launch of several new self-finance programs in B.Tech and M.Tech from the upcoming academic year 2024-25. Applicants interested in the courses listed must fill a separate form available on the JMI website. As per the information, Admission to the following B.Tech programmes will be based on the final ranking of the candidates in the JEE Mains.

These self-financed programs are offered with an annual fee of Rs 1,50,000 for B.Tech and Rs 54,000 for M.Tech. Application form are available from 20.02.2024 at https://jmicoe.in

B.Tech in Electrical & Computer Engineering, B.Tech in Electronics (VLSI design and Technology), B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (Data Sciences), and M.Tech in Data Sciences are the among the new courses offered by the Central University.

Prof. Mini Thomas, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering stated while launching the program, “The introduction of these new B.Tech courses underscores our commitment in providing cutting-edge education that aligns with industry needs. By integrating emerging technologies into our curriculum, we are preparing students to excel in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.”

These programs are designed to provide students with advanced education, equip them with specialised skills, and prepare them for the evolving demands of the industry. The university mentioned through a press release the objectives behind offering these new programs.

Here is the brief description of the newly instated programmes:

B.Tech in Electrical & Computer Engineering

For the B.Tech program in Electrical and Computer Engineering the main objective is to create qualified engineers to improve the security and strength of computing systems, primarily in communications networks, and enhance the efficacy of cyber-physical systems like smart grid, autonomous mobile systems, industrial control systems etc.

Under this program through a carefully crafted curriculum and hands-on learning experiences, students will explore a wide range of topics including circuit design, digital systems, computer architecture, software engineering, and more.

B.Tech program in Electronics (VLSI Design and Technology)

As per the information provided by jamia university, this course is designed and developed in a way to train students in this strategic domain and prepare them to accept the challenge of designing and manufacturing novel nanoelectronics devices and chips on Indian soil. The curriculum will be based on the requirements of the IC and chip design industries and will be on par with institutes of repute in India and abroad.

B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Sciences)

B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Sciences) offers students a comprehensive curriculum covering key topics such as programming languages, algorithms, database systems, data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning.

M.Tech in Data Sciences

M.Tech in Data Sciences is a postgraduate program focused on advanced studies in Data Sciences, which combines elements of computer science, statistics, and domain-specific knowledge to extract insights and knowledge from data.

Notably, JMI is among the top central universities in India that offers a wide variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs across various disciplines. The university has started its application process for admission to Undergraduate (UG) and Post-graduate (PG) courses.
