Malappuram's Aliparamba Panchayat To Launch India's First Fully-Fledged AI Lab For Students

Malappuram, Kerala: Aliparamba Panchayat in Kerala’s Malappuram district is all set to become India’s first AI literature Panchayat, with the administration to inaugurate the fully AI-equipped lab on September 2, Saturday. The panchayat had earlier been recognised for pioneering an Artificial Intelligence (AI) lab for rural students in a government school, as the first for a panchayat in the country, according the officials from the local body administration.

An AI literate panchayat would mean that all residents in that local governing body have a basic understanding of AI. AI literacy means knowing what generative AI is and how it’s used in daily life, including its tools and applications in various fields. The AI literacy also includes learning to critically evaluate AI outputs and identify potential harms.
