Vazhayur, Kerala: The three-day Second National Conference on “Indian Knowledge Systems and Islamic Studies” commenced at the SAFI Campus, Vazhayur, and will continue from December 19 to 21. The conference focuses on exploring the historical, contemporary, and future dimensions of the mutual influences between Indian knowledge traditions and Islamic studies.

The inaugural keynote address was delivered by Prof. Azizuddin Hussain, eminent historian and former Head of the Department of History, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. The conference was formally inaugurated by C.H. Abdul Raheem, Chairman of SAFI Institute.

Former SAFI Chairman Dr.Azad Mooppan, along with Ameer Ahmed, Principal Prof. E.P. Imbichikoya, Prof. Masood Alam Falahi, Nadeem Ashraf, and several other scholars addressed various academic sessions during the conference.

Around 40 academicians and researchers from leading universities across India, including Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and MANUU Hyderabad, are participating in the conference. More than 200 research papers will be presented across different technical sessions.

The conference is organized by the Department of Islamic Studies, SAFI Institute of Advanced Study (Autonomous). Scholars, teachers, researchers, writers, and UG and PG students from universities and institutions across various Indian states are taking part. Approximately 300 participants are attending the academic conference.
