The agencies conducting examinations and the government face backlash from people across all spheres including students, teachers, educational institutions, social activists, student bodies, parents, and political leaders. The anger among the youth and supporters is not getting enough time to subside as the future of a series of examinations seems bleak due to cancellation or postponement at the last moment.

Students are frustrated over the last-minute decisions by the government and testing agencies.

In the previous week, 3 national and 1 state level examinations were canceled and postponed. The cancellation of examination is putting the entire education machinery under pressure considering the already high rate of unemployment in different sectors.

The examinations which are affected by the current disruption in the process include:
NEET PG: The examination is conducted by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences to pursue medical postgraduation courses. The examination was initially scheduled for March 3 and later postponed to July 7. It was again rescheduled on June 23 but nearly 12 hours before the exam was postponed. No date has been announced so far.

UGC NET: The examination was conducted by NTA for eligibility for assistant professor posts and PhD programs. The exam was scheduled for June 18 and conducted on the same day. However, on June 19, the education ministry notified the cancellation of the examination due to the suspicion of a paper leak.
CSIR-UGC-NET: The Joint CSIR-UGC-NET is conducted to determine eligibility for junior research fellowship and assistant professorship and admission to PhD programs in science. CSIR-UGC-NET June 2024 scheduled from June 25 to June 27 also got postponed. No new exam date has been confirmed yet.
Bihar TET: It is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board to determine the eligibility of candidates for primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools in Bihar. The exam was scheduled to be held from June 26 to June 28, but now got postponed for some ‘unavoidable reasons’.
