To ensure transparency and smooth and fair conduct of examination, under the National Testing Agency (NTA) the Department of Higher Education, the Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee of experts.
The High-Level Committee of Experts is constituted under the chairmanship of Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman, of ISRO and Chairman of BoG, IIT Kanpur. The seven-member committee includes Dr. Randeep Guleria (former director, AIIMS, Delhi), Prof. B J Rao (VC, Uni. of Hyderabad), Prof. Ramamurthy K. (IIT Madras), Pankaj Bansal (Co-founder, people strong and board member-Karmaygi Bharat), Aditya Mittal (Dean student affairs, IIT Delhi) and Govind Jaiswal (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education).

The Committee will submit its report to the Education Ministry within 2 months. The committee will recommend the following:
- reforms in the examination process mechanism
- improvement in Data Security Protocols
- Structure and functioning of NTA

The committee will analyze the end-to-end examination process and suggest measures to improve efficiency, review the SOPs/Protocols of NTA and suggest measures to improve them, evaluate existing data security processes, review existing security protocols, recommend the structure and functioning of NTA and assess the Grievance Redressal Mechanism of the NTA.

Questions have been raised about the NTA’s efficiency in conducting national-level entrance examinations. The NEET-related examination irregularities, the cancelation of the UGC NET June 2024 exam, and now the postponement of the CSIR NET June 2024 exam have brought criticism over the agency’s capability to ensure accountability.
